Rhonda Hull Newsletter – May 03, 2016

Dear Ones,

  1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

  2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.

  3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.

  4. Name five people who have won the Nobel Peace Prize.

  5. Name last year’s Academy Award winner for Best Actor or Actress.

Although amazing and talented people such as these catch our attention in the moment, their accomplishments, certificates, and the significant events are not always lasting in our memories. Although the focus and patience it took to reach these goals is admirable, many achievements are soon forgotten and trophies soon go on a shelf.

Take another quiz. See how you do on this one:

  1. List three teachers who made a difference for you.

  2. List three friends who helped you through a difficult time.

  3. Name five people who taught you something worthwhile.

  4. Name someone who made you feel appreciated and special.

  5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

The ones who make a difference in our life are not always the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones whose words and actions match, the ones who love us ‘warts’ and all, the ones who care authentically, and who live from a place of love. The ones who treasure our ‘enoughness’ and who love us no matter what.

These amazing mentors are often overlooked as true models of peace. Celebrate them, appreciate the simple and real authenticity they offer you, and shower them with love and gratitude in return.

Notice the simple things that matter. Recognize the unobtrusive and ordinary extraordinary people who come into your life and gift you with so much in simple and heartfelt ways. Dare to matter in the life of another as they or someone else has in yours. And, to live a life that truly matters, dare to love yourself as a priority. Miracles will happen and life will matter in deeper and lasting ways because your words and actions match.

Advance Happy Mothers day!

Joy-FULLY,
